I agree with the guy. You're going to spend all the time getting good at Guitar Hero, you might as well LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR.

I'll have to check that out..

I was able to pick up a simple Ibanez and a small amp for $150. I would check Costco and see if they have a set. To learn on, with an electric, it doesn't have to be anything special. You'll also find the electric a bit easier to play then the acoustic, since the sound is easier to make sound right, due to the pickup and effects, vs the straight pure cavity of the acoustic. And the neck on the electric is a bit narrower, so it's easier to hit all the strings and easier to form some of the frets..

I learned on an acoustic, finger plucking, and this song is about as far as I got, played all the way through.

And yes, I found it harder than electric. Song may sound easy but for all the shit I learned I never had to move around a neck like I did on this song. That said...don't stop practicing till this can be done in your sleep:

My girls brother does fire and flames pretty solid on expert. Uses both hands on the frets, and strums with his elbow. Kinda crazy to watch.

That is an odd sounding technique.

Even the elbow is unnecessary until about 2.5 minutes into the song. The game supports hammer on's and pull-off's, and with a song like that one, with the notes being so close, you can hammer and pull right off the bat in that song until about 2.5 min in. Seeing guys do it one-handed on expert is nuts. Another song that looks NUTS, someone did custom "Eruption" by Van Halen:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=T-aA_YkRWYI

Green-Yellow-Orange combos make baby Jesus cry. Also, in GH related news, Q1 2009 Guitar Hero: Metallica dropping. Mini games include presiding at senate sub-committee hearings on music piracy, patting people down for recording devices at shows, and waiting at home for your 2000 gallon shark tank to be delivered while you bitch about how illegal music downloaders are ruining you. But seriously, this could be bad ass. I heard their cover of "Turn the Page" today and remembered how bad ass it is.

Also, the original "bad ass" GH song, Jordan, was something that he never played live, he did the intro then would go into another song, maybe do the solo, but never the whole song. Found a guy that did it as a cover, and it's bad ass, have a look:

I have heard from guitar players that this actually isn't shit if you have the right gear.

All know is my big fat meaty fingers dont work fir shit trying to form some of the notes on the tabs. I think most guitarists are double jointed.. there's just no way normal fingers can do that crap.

And no, i haven't watched your videos.. yeah for the army DNS/websense

I think the game could seriously kick ass, however, I think it won't be enjoyed as much and I'd bet the song selection.. not nearly as good. I mean, have you tried to play some of the notes on a modern rock song? those guys have crazy dexterity and can push some really odd string combinations..

Yeah but I think playing the game, LEARNING guitar, then busting it out at parties for the hunnies is more impressive than Guitar Hero skills.

Haha, thats funny. Who here hasn't gotten a blowjob from a midget? Although, due to midget hookers being easier to choke for obvious reasons, I tend to run through them pretty fast.

No doubt, but playing any major instrument is good for that.. and some are a bit easier then the guitar.
