Umm.. IMBD doesn't have that listed as one of the movies that he was ever in...

Trying to remember the title of a movie for a buddy. Has John Lithgow in it and he's on a train that I believe was a runaway, somewhere in the northern United States, possibly Canada. If this rings any bells, let me know. Thanks in advance!

The first seems more likely to be what you are looking for, but maybe it's the second.

And no, I don't own either of these, nor have I seen them.
