on Saturday June 4, 2011 @ 10:09am[ 23 replies ] Posted on the Bookface about this, but wondering if anyone else from the oldchool wants in. Anyone interested in going to E3 in 2012? According to the LA Convention center website it will be June 5th, 6th, and 7th. We can still do free registration if we register before mid April 2012, just have to submit those forms of ID :) I know we all got kind of burned out on it, but it's been a while since any of us have gone. Besides, next year will have Nintendo's new console in full effect (with the unveil being this year), and no doubt some teasing on Microsoft's and/or Sony's next machine. Who's in?

on Sunday August 30, 2009 @ 08:42pm[ 7 replies ] So while browsing OCZ Technologies site looking for info on their Colossus 1TB SSD priced at about $2500 bucks, I ran across this device: The Neural Impulse Actuator http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/ocz_peripherals/nia-neural_impulse_actuator http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38653 My question is, would you ever consider using a product like this for gaming?

New Gaming Computer

on Monday February 2, 2009 @ 09:13pm[ 31 replies ] Looking to get a new computer with part of my bonus in a few weeks. My current one is a bit long in the tooth (AMD 3200+, 1gig ram, 1tb HD, GForce FX5600), and I NEED to play the new Total War game when it comes out in 4 sweet weeks. I know I could piece together a pretty sweet system for under 2k, but frankly I'm tired of that. Anyone know of any good pre-built gaming systems that allow for some good expandability? While I wouldn't mind having a couple 9800's in SLI, it's not required, but I'd like to have the option. I get 12% discount through Dell, so that's a plus if they have anything worth while. My main concern is having a pre-built system that isn't completely locked down with regards to Ram, Hard Drive, and Video. Budget would be about 2k including a monitor. Suggestions?

on Tuesday April 24, 2007 @ 12:00am[ 26 replies ] So with E3 being a mere husk of it's glory years, it looks like I'll be going to PAX (Penny Arcade eXpo) this year. The plan is a drive to LAX from Vegas, take the train up to Seattle, stay at the hotel across the street from the convention center, and fly back. I'm looking forward to the trip, as it's sure to be quite a bit of fun.

on Monday October 16, 2006 @ 07:34pm[ 22 replies ] Well if it were not obvious enough, the E3 days of old are officially dead. E3 reborn into summer show in Santa Monica As promised, E3 will return in July of 2007 featuring a series of tweaks to the show's format and venue. The announcement comes two months after word dropped that the show would be considerably downsized. According to its organizers, the gaming expo had grown too large and had lost its focus. The new show will be rechristened as the E3 Media and Business Summit when it takes place from July 11-13 in Santa Monica, California, next year. Without a doubt, it's all about the media and business getting tigether. Replacing the massive LA Convention Center thronging with gamers will be scores of hotel suites that are accessible only by invitation. According to Douglas Lowenstein, President of the ESA, this change will enhance the purpose of E3. [ more ] |
