Well with this most recent link to the zork 404 error page on stumbleupon (I think this is like the 4th or 5th time they've linked me) it has pushed us over 65,535 registered users. I have no idea how many people have hit the site, who haven't bothered to register, but I can guess that number is going to be much much higher.

Zork still down
Posted by Fox on Sunday January 9, 2011 @ 01:55pm

Hey, I played Zork for the first time a few hours ago, and it was cool. But then, it stopped working. I looked for a solution to my problem, and I saw that a guy was getting the same problem as me a few days ago, which was then reported to be fixed. I signed up to tell you guys it's down again, or ask if maybe I'm doing something wrong. Nobody seems to have Zork but you guys (a plethora of sites link to your Zork server, but have none of their own), and I can't use a downloaded copy unless I have Windows '95.

Funny note.. While Volt and Caliber where over in Dsizzle this past weekend the topic of b000bs came up, how we like them, talk about them, etc. good times. So I sit down to watch this past weeks "How I Met your Mother" and it turns out Barney has a line that when he hears about a new girl he hasn't seen yet, the only thing he asks is "boobs". Totally reminded me of Caliber.

Did you know..

They have Putty for linux!?!? How cool is that. I did a 'apt-cache search term |grep -i putty" looking for something that maybe said "like putty" but then it had putty itself.. so PIMP! I have no idea how long it's been in the repositories.. I always ended up using gtkterm or some gh3y crap like that but this is great!

Sitting in the parking lot today, I was playing a game on my phone when a pair of boobies walked by. I was, obviously, distracted by the boobies and watched them until they were out of sight. When I looked back down, I noticed I had died in the game.

In my attempt to make myself feel better I went out and spent some money on myself. I just picked up a Lenovo X301 laptop (demo unit, last one in the store) and it's brilliant. What a fantastic little laptop. 13" (1400x900), great screen, fantastic keyboard, wifi, wlan, SSD drive, I've loaded it up to 4gb and win7 is quick as can be. Just brilliant. This thing is even lighter then my Atom netbook. I've always wanted to get a Thinkpad since even before IBM sold them but they have always been a bit on the $$ side.. but since I'm going to be doing some traveling and training, I figured time to get a better notebook. I'm totally happy with the purchase. I almost got one of the T410s's, but I saved over $500 getting the X301 and it seems to be that it might be a quieter, cooler and plenty powerful laptop. Yeah Me.

THCNET
Code ]

So volt may or may not remember this, but the main function used by THCNET that is responsible for displaying messages is a recursive hell beast of code. While it has worked all these years, it does make any changes involving it rather difficult. I pretty much have to stare at the code for a couple days before I remember what the hell I was thinking when writing it, and can get into a state where I can change it. Before that I usually say fuck it, and make yet another quick and ugly hack at it to address the issue at hand.

Normally I don't give two shits about celebrity news, as it is largely gossip and vicarious idiocy. However, I don't mind following celebrity news when it involves porn. This morning, the radio jocks was talking about how Vivid Entertainment has offered "Octomom" Nadya Suleman enough money to pay off her house if she would do a porno movie with them, something around $500K. Now the first thing in my mind is "hell no, that chick is not looking good!"

I wonder how I will teach my kids how to use computers, how they work, the history, etc. I hope they stay interested.
