Fallout 3
[ Games ]
Posted by Krux
on Saturday April 11, 2009 @ 09:00pm[ 37 replies ] Finally got around to checking out Fallout 3. Pretty sweet game, though it does seem a little on the buggy side, at least on my system. Game ends up locking up on me a lot when trying to load saved games, plus I had some other random crashes and glitches when playing. Anyone else run into this, or is it just me?

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

on Thursday April 2, 2009 @ 05:08am[ 6 replies ] What a crud fest, saw a super advanced screening as a buddy was a producer on it, and I let him know what I thought. If it were a TV show, the movie would be the best scenes from 2 years of the show, but as a whole it had no congealed, "togetherness" effect. It was literally the highlight reel of a TV series. Lots of action, lot's of dialogue, no symbiotic feel.

NZB search sites sbeing shut down?
[ Subculture ]
Posted by Stealth
on Wednesday March 25, 2009 @ 08:54am[ more ] NZB might not have caught on very big over in the US, but over here, it's big. There are a number of sites (especially in the .nl) that do nzb searches and linking. It's basically a list of files and their IDs that you can use to grab from a new server. Basically, a torrent file for newsgroups. Anyways.. it seems the Dutch have gone on a spree and are trying to take down those sites, treating them like P2P sites. I find this interesting since the attacks against torrent sites, that are free, aren't going all that well. Newsgroups will never die.
Zork

Posted by Elliot.exe
on Monday March 23, 2009 @ 09:19am[ 19 replies ] Found a bug on Zork, it is a simple glitch but the sort of thing to happen on a browser Based game. All progress remains after pressing F5 and closing & re-opening your browser. It repeats the actions from previous games which then means it is hard to not walk into the fangs of a lurking grue even though you did not have any input to it...is it just me or are all your PC's doing it. any gliches or bugs I would be happy to hear as it might be a admin network problem that we could trobleshoot or just a dodgy browser

So.. Any opinions on the BSG series finale?

on Sunday March 22, 2009 @ 02:24pm[ 50 replies ] Myself, I enjoyed it.. I like the way it wrapped up some thins and provided for most of the unanswered questions. And the last battle sequence was dope. I'm really looking forwards to watching the series again on Bluray when it comes out later in the year.

on Wednesday March 18, 2009 @ 04:59am[ 23 replies ] So last weekend I put together a new media center PC for one of the guys here. I also took time to upgrade mine ( new case and MB) and I've got to tell you, they are so easy to do now, and they work SOOOO WELL. Considering it's tax time, you might want to get up on it. it's cheap, plays all sorts of formats, music, pictures, trailers, etc. And QUIET. Very very quiet. Here's a list of the parts I used and why..

Watchmen worth watching
Posted by Caliber
on Saturday March 14, 2009 @ 05:07pm[ 15 replies ] Went and saw Watchmen today. While I was not blown away, I can say that it a relatively decent and entertaining adaptation. Its fairly long, but I didn't find myself begging for the end to come. It has a very nice smattering of tits, blood, explosions and good-old-fashioned ass-kicking (I did get sick of seeing Dr. Manhattan's dick)...

on Saturday March 14, 2009 @ 05:55am[ more ] So Thursday's episode of The Daily Show had Cramer on the air.. here's the links for the full, unedited interview. John brings the good points and Cramer just kind of ducked and dodged and basically said 'it's not my fault'. If you've got 20 minutes.. watch the videos. Despite Stewarts normal comedy routine, he really has a good sense of everyday points of view.
