Paranormal Activity
Posted by Krux
on Monday October 19, 2009 @ 12:09pm[ more ] So I watched Paranormal Activity the other night. Freaked out the other people I watched the movie with. I didn't really find it scary, though I will say the movie was rather unique as far as horror flicks go. Certainly in the freak out genre of film, so if you were scared by say the ring, this movie would scare you as well. My main complaint is the shaky cam work during the entire film was on the verge of giving me a severe headache.
District 9 & G.I. Joe
Posted by unicron
on Tuesday August 18, 2009 @ 01:30pm[ 12 replies ] Everything you heard about District 9 is true, and then some. A damn near flawless sci-fi masterpiece, deserving a spot on your wall between Blade Runner and Alien. I was engrossed the whole time, hung off every word, and only used the edge of my seat. You feel for the aliens without the movie getting preachy or condescending, all of the actions of the characters make sense and fit, and the guns seem to be taken out of HL2. Completely worth the price of seeing it in the theater, and a must buy on DVD day.
Terminator Salvation

on Friday May 22, 2009 @ 05:04pm[ more ] Just got out from watching Terminator Salvation. The short review: I put it in the class of movie that is worth watching at least once. Good action flick, though don't watching it and expecting the same lasting impact as the first two Terminator movies.

on Thursday April 2, 2009 @ 05:08am[ 6 replies ] What a crud fest, saw a super advanced screening as a buddy was a producer on it, and I let him know what I thought. If it were a TV show, the movie would be the best scenes from 2 years of the show, but as a whole it had no congealed, "togetherness" effect. It was literally the highlight reel of a TV series. Lots of action, lot's of dialogue, no symbiotic feel.
Watchmen worth watching
Posted by Caliber
on Saturday March 14, 2009 @ 05:07pm[ 15 replies ] Went and saw Watchmen today. While I was not blown away, I can say that it a relatively decent and entertaining adaptation. Its fairly long, but I didn't find myself begging for the end to come. It has a very nice smattering of tits, blood, explosions and good-old-fashioned ass-kicking (I did get sick of seeing Dr. Manhattan's dick)...

Two movies..
Posted by Stealth
on Friday September 12, 2008 @ 02:50am[ more ] So a few days ago I sat down and watched Street Kings and Vantage Point (both on the bluray). Good flicks. I enjoyed them both, Forest Whitaker did a great job in Street Kings (along with K Reeves) and Vantage Point had some nice twists. Street Kings had a really good cast and they performed well. It did feel like Training Day a bit (it was the same producer or director or something) but it held it's own well. Vantage point was interesting in the story telling. I would have liked to have seen what the original end result was (what was the plan) but the car chase seen was cool ( there are some issues with the car being hit and then in the next scene looking better) but overall, it was a good piece of popcorn movie watching.
Generation Kill

on Sunday August 31, 2008 @ 05:25am[ 69 replies ] Did anyone happen to catch this on HBO? It was recommended to me recently, and it's not bad. I can't vouch for the craziness of battle, but I can say that it seems like it would be familiar.. command don't stupid things without thinking about the results of it all. It is about marines though, so that could be the issue. hehehe [ (1) 2 3 4 5 ][ next 30 ] |
