Re: American military vs Chinese military

I was wondering if one of the many armed forces gents here might recall numbers from our military to compare... Ordered by the Central Military Commission, the PLA's General Logistics Department has raised insurance and compensation levels for all servicemen, who die or get injured fulfilling their duty, the PLA Daily reported Wednesday. Starting from January 1 this year, insurance compensation for a martyr is raised to 600,000 yuan (US$88,200), from the previous 86,400 yuan (US$12,600). The compensation for a serviceman who dies on duty is set at 300,000 yuan from the previous 57,600 yuan. Also, compensations for 10 levels of injuries are drastically increased, with the highest compensation at 145,000 yuan. For those servicemen who die of illness will obtain 50,000 yuan of insurance compensation, said the report. Well, it depends on a number of factors. SGLI is offered and automatically deducted from pay for the sum of $200,000. You can decline coverage, or select a lower amount, but $200,000 is the default. You have a death gratuity that is like $12,000 (approx) paid immediately to survivors, non taxed, to help with immediate costs. Death gratuity increases to $100,000 if in combat or in any way related to combat. It goes on and on though... Survivor benefits, Social Security, GI Bill Death benefits, etc etc We also have benefits to those injured or "disabled" while in service. I believe it's 10% disabled and onward. So there's different amounts for different levels of disability. If you lost a finger lets say, you might get 5% disability, but if you've worked on the flight line, or where loud noises are, and your hearing has been dramatically affected, you could be looking at another 15% disability to take you to 20% total. Then they'd figure out your monthly payment, and you'd always have coverage through the VA to be looked at for those related issues. It's pretty convoluted, and when you separate from the military, you go through a number of classes that explain all of this to you, and re-explain it over and over to ensure you understand your entitlements. You haven't been tight since your brother fucked you in third grade. |

"There were." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIMH50X0F-4 On of the very few things that Bush 2 did right was significantly benefits to servicemen, although insurance companies have found ways to make an unconscionable profit* off of their holdings in so-called "retained assets" accounts. *Note: this is an actual "evil profit" as opposed to the "evil profit" attributed to not paying retail employees $30 an hour. She actually enjoyed it kind of and it gave us days and days of conversation material. Now, here is some good irony. Red Dawn 2 is going to have the Chinese invade the US but MGM can't release it because they lack the funds and are for sale. A Chinese company has bid on them and another Chinese company wants to buy the rights to Red Dawn 2 for domestic distribution for patriotic purposes. Of course, none of this is in the western media. |

If they release that you need to pirate that shit with a quickness! That also explains why we haven't heard any more about the movie.. i was looking forward to watching it.
