The expectations from childhood are often tread mightily upon by some dick-washing faggot who believes his "creative license" grants him the right to rip apart every heart that yearns to see what could be done today with the great ideas of before...

Well if the trailer is any indication, not Joe Carnahan... Joe has one of those hearts... the kind that believes that 4 war buddies with some righteousness on their side can solve the worlds problems, one slum kid or hot chick at a time...

Saw the trailer for it yesterday... and it looks good. Maybe a little too over the top, as Stealth mentioned with the Tank part, but it looks to be cast well. I look forward to seeing it.

You got a toothbrush? We're going to London. Do you hear that, Doug? I'm coming to London.

I thought the tank bit was fun... A-Team was always a little "over-the-top." I mean, seriously, the entire show had motherfuckers shooting at each other every episode. Not only did no one ever get shot but once, that one time was the focus of the entire episode.

Now GI Joe, on the other hand, was easily one of the worse movies I have ever seen in my entire life... ever... like worse than Bloodrayne... Worse than RHPS... Marlon Wayans should be stripped of his flesh, slashed through both achilles tendons, and left in the desert to be eaten by mangy rabid coyotes while attached to an adrenaline pump. It was so bad, I didn't even leave the theater thinking "it would be great to bang scarlet and baroness covered in chocolate sauce" It took like three days after the movie for me to get the horribles out of my head enough to think straight again. If someone wanted me to give up government secrets and sell my daughter into slavery, they would need do nothing but threaten me with having to watch that fucking piece of shit again.

Damn. What was so awful?

I was immediately put off by the level of cheese thrown into the whole thing. If we are going to make a kids movie, do it... don't fucking half-ass it. Then there is the most ridiculous acting performances I have ever seen. What pisses me off about it is that I KNOW FOR A FACT that at least two of those actors are normally outstanding.

Then... then... there is Marlon fucking Wayons. You know what I think of Marlon Wayans... I think he should have to spend the rest of his life hanging out with kodrik... that's how much I hate that useless, shiftless, dumb-fuck motherfucker. He has ruined more movies than some good actors have even been in. The only thing he could have brought to the table in this movie was if in the first 30 seconds or so, we got to watch as his throat was ripped out by wild dogs who's teeth had been blunted. This is assuming, of course, that his vocal cords had been removed prior...

Next, the purposeful debasement of anything even approaching "eliteness" of any kind of combat team is enough to make me want to vomit just thinking about it.

So, this is the best the world has to offer... we're so fucked...

Nanites, wow, all 6 million of them... fuck you science consultant...

Say snake Eyes, the only thing that would make that mask any gayer is if there was a plastic dick sticking out of it. Perhaps the same guy that designed the Kilmer Batman suit finally got some work again. How empowering for cocksuckers everywhere...

Action scenes? I must have missed them... but I did notice they threw some Looney Toons into the middle of the movie. Actually, saying that brings a great discredit on Elmer, Wile E. and the crew... sorry guys

Oh look, the goofy black guy gets to bang the hot white chick who is miraculously transformed from a social nincompoop to the suave pick-up artist in under 2 hours. If the movie is to be believed, it'll take the two of them 45 minutes to figure out where the dick goes...

And god fucking forbid the bad guys just be bad guys... nooo, they have to be misunderstood, warped, poorly-raised, mechanically controlled automaton. But hey, its all better in the end 'cause we want to "understand" them... fuck them, I bet the fucking test audience just got pissed because baroness was actually a bad guy... couldn't have that... she's hot, and we want to bang her... let's make her a good guy after all

I sat through that entire piece of shit, praying that there would be some morsel, some juicy bit, that I could take with me that said "Hollywood didn't do the same thing to this fond memory as it did to Dungeons & Dragons" but no, from the goddamn start, they had to rip my balls out through my throat and say "eat this, you fucking consumer..."

And now I hear that #2 is on the way... note I called it number 2, like when people talk about taking a shit... same thing

It has potential. really, it does. The tank bit at the end was eh, but I think they did a good job picking the characters and they might be able to do something better then 'GI Joe' with it.

I just saw GI Joe last night. Except for the part with the Joe chick driving around on a motorcycle, it was 100% awesome.

I found it possibly the worse action movie I've ever seen. I got in for free and still almost walked out.

Haha, thats funny. Who here hasn't gotten a blowjob from a midget? Although, due to midget hookers being easier to choke for obvious reasons, I tend to run through them pretty fast.

It was pretty/great graphics.. but way cheesy and wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be.

most of the things Caliber mentioned. I think the nanites idea was interesting, for a movie based in the future, but they went at it a bit much. the facial control vs body control vs eating metal stuff. I didn't like the snake eyes/white ninja guy story, nor the fact that the good guy had a girlfriend who happened to be the had guys top 'man'. whatever.

I like cheese.. I like lots of cheesy flicks, I'm a sucker for Fast and Furious movies, the fakest things on the planet, but, this could have been better or gone full camp, it seemed to fall at a wrong spot on the spectrum.

But again, I like the visuals, it's was a neat movie to watch, effects wise.

Fuck that and fuck them... even the wannabe CGI sucked in comparison to movies like Iron Man and Transformers, which had similar budgets

That said, I also love a good cheesy movie. For instance, I can watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith several times and it not lose too much appeal. But you nailed it, this one seems to fall short of the balance point of good cheese and "please-feel-free-to-initiate-nuclear-armageddon-before-making-me-consider-finishing-this-movie"

I, too, was expecting something a little more action oriented, but even the action parts were "eh." I did think it was an interesting take, and overall thought the movie was worth the $1 redbox rental. The science left me wanting though. I definitely wouldn't buy it, or even rent it again.

Did not like it at all. However, that is for a very specific reason. As everyone knows I generally avoid trailers and teasers and such. So when I went to see District 9, I was expecting a mindless action alien or vampire movie of some kind (yes, I knew so little about the movie in advance that I thought it might be some kind of vampire derivative). But when I got there and watched it, I got an alien version of Hotel Rwanda and a morality play about man's inhumanity to man. This is all fine and good, but it isn't what I expected; thus I didn't like it at all. However, I have already made the commitment that in a year or two, when I have forgotten most of the movie, I will re-watch it knowing what to expect and then see if I like it.

I just bought that on Blu Ray... haven't watched it yet. It's amazing with a little one how little time you have to do shit all of a sudden. I thought I had no time before! Wow! Still haven't watched Star Trek, and I bought that the day it came out too.

I finally saw Star Trek the other day. It wasn't bad. As I explained above in my post about District 9, I avoid previews and such so I had no idea about some of the serious story-changing elements that occurred during the movie. I won't spoil them for you, but basically I was quite surprise by quite a bit. But with that caveat in mind, it was really good and a quality addition to the Star Trek universe, in my view.

Well, I'm not a huge, or even moderate, Trekkie... so I don't think I'm going to be bothered where/how it goes. Maybe I'll get to watch it sometime this year. heh I've avoided all reviews about it, save for the articles talking about a flying R2D2 hidden in the movie. heh
