So I picked up some new Guitar Hero World Tour drums yesterday since my other set died a few months back. I knew there was a Midi port in the back of them, but heard that there were problems getting them to work properly with electronic drums. Guess I was wrong! After looking online I found getting them to work with my Roland V Tour TD 9S is really simple. Yay! Heading to the music store now to grab a cable. I'm thinking it will be harder to play songs on the Roland, but we'll see

I didn't know you did drums in RL.. cool. A buddy of mine that rocked the RB drums went and got an electric set and started taking lessons.. he really enjoyed using the bigger set for the games.

How long have you been playing?

Got them hooked up, mapping the midi over to the appropriate settings was quick!

I started taking lessons from a guy named mike johnston in september. Its a ton of fun, even though my rock band and guitar hero drumming skills far outweigh my real life drumming skills at the moment. I never realized that playing an instrument, especially drums, was so numbers and math based, so that's been a real challenge for me! Maybe once I'm better I can justify upgrading my kit a bit.

hahaha.. imagine if he was trying to play the sax or something.. at least the drums are low freq things that don't screech when you screw up.
