Hella cool man, glad to hear it's gotten big enough to put a formal non-profit in place and get recognized downtown.

Well at this point we're just a Nevada non-profit... haven't gone for the 501c3 yet, since that requires a bit more money and work

Tell me about it, I'm treasurer for a NPO that's been trying to register in Arizona (and federal 501c3) for almost a year. Pretty damn annoying.

Yea, right now we don't have the cash flow to pay for the yearly audit, etc.. so we're holding off on it for now... eventually we want to go that route, but not till we're ready to.

We partnered up with School Factory for the first year or two and are working on setting up our 501c3 for a few years from now.

Cool. We thought about that, but we're getting the building for free initially, so School Factory's cut of 10% would kill us there. From what I've heard The Geek Group is also doing the umbrella 501c3 thing, though haven't looked as to what they require for that yet.

We have a few donations that go through them, mainly cash. Most of the stuff we have been paying for ourselves or people are donating directly. It's cool that there are options.
