This is pretty sweet. Guy did a nice job documenting his case mod/build of a 16TB system called Black Dwarf. Seeing this makes me want to invest in a HD camera one of these days.

It's a neat design. I'd like to see some more tests on the file speeds considering the card they used and if it was mtraid or done on the BIOS of the card.
But that's a great shape and size for 16TB. Pretty cool. It also reminds me that I need a garage/workshop.
I have a good portion of that. Only tool I didn't have that I saw him use was a scroll saw.
My current project is building a new entertainment center. I'm using a couple Siemon racks I got a deal on, and just finished welding up a cross piece to connect the two (like a big H), and a TV mount that attaches to the cross piece.

Got quite a bit better at welding doing all that. Fortunately the majority of the ugly welds are not really visible, Well none of them are visible unless you look behind the entertainment center once it's complete. Took me some trial and error before I finally figured out how to get a good bead with the sheet metal. Given that this is my first "real" welding project where the end result is I've made something (as opposed to just repairing things as I had done previously) I'd say it turned out fairly well. I probably need to invest in a good variety of metal clamps as well, since I really didn't have enough, or of the right type for what I was doing.
