Has anyone seen this movie yet? Green Zone?
I have some personal disgusts for the movie, but it was well made. There are better war movies...
Dude, check out Lions For Lambs and let me know what you think. I just saw it the other day.
I remember seeing at least some of it (it honestly wasn't memorable enough to remember the whole thing). The scene in Cruise's office when he declares he has no interest in becoming president was one that stands out. Very well done. I don't remember hating it...
As of now, my two favorite gulf war films are Three Kings and Iron Man, both of which are glorious fiction and have no pretense as to mirroring real life in this, or any directly adjacent, universe... The Lord of the Rings was a better war movie than most of the shit out there.
The rest strike me as trite, unimaginative, profit mongering or worse, political reactionism/radicalism wrapped in what is supposed to be entertainment or documentary. For instance, The Hurt Locker had some interesting story ideas, but the bullshit writer/director/producer whatever had their head so far up their ass trying to change everyone's mind that they forgot they were writing/directing/producing about events in living memory. As such, what was portrayed as only slight dramatic license was instead glorious (and only partially entertaining) fiction.
So, since it has come up, Green Zone can suck my ass.
